St Michael's Church has a commanding view of Bracknell.
This is the heart of what was once the small village of Easthampstead. |
Only the Church and a few cottages remain now, and these
are surrounded by the modern neighbourhood of Easthampstead,
as shown here by the new roundabout providing access to the Reed's
Hill development. |
Reed's Hill was once an open space behind Church Hill House
Hospital, which was recently demolished to make way for a new
housing development. |
Point Royal is the only block of high rise flats in Bracknell.
Although it was reluctantly accepted at the time of its construction,
it is now seen to have been ahead of its time in terms of its
unique design. |
These low rise flats are more typical of those found in
a number of areas of Bracknell. |
Cycle tracks are common in Bracknell, and several have
recently been added, such as this one beside South Hill Road. |
