| Just south of the Band Stand in the centre of town, is Charles Square. This recently revamped square now boasts a clock fountain, which supposedly tells the time every five minutes. In the summer months, it provides a lot of entertainment for children trying to dodge the random fountain jets! |
| On High Street at the edge of Charles Square is another building to have survived the redevelopment of the 1960's. This small cottage is now occupied by Boots Opticians. |
| Passing through Charles Square, we find Princess Square, an indoor shopping centre on two levels. The inside of the shopping centre has been refurbished over the past year. |
| Opposite the entrance to Princess Square, and often overlooked, is Bracknell's War Memorial and the Catholic Church of St Joseph. |
| High Street continues west from the Band Stand. Here are found a variety of shops, including Bentalls department store. |
| Just opposite Bentalls and next to MacDonalds is The Bull public house, one of the few reminders of Bracknell past. |
